2018 Summary & 2019 Goals

2018 Summary & 2019 Goals

It’s that time of the year again, to look back on the year just gone and learn from the mistakes we’ve made and believe me I’ve made many this year. I have always tried to keep my personal life away from my blog and keep it positive and motivational which I might change in the new year and share more real stuff but the truth is that 2018 was probably the hardest year in my life so far as there were times when I felt really low. I was faced with so many hardships this year like losing a job and the breakdown of a relationship that I thought would last forever but that’s a topic for another post. I always try to look at the positive side of things even though I found that difficult to do at times this year but I’d like to think that all these challenges made be stronger and made me learn more about myself.

I am definitely the most proud of how far my blog has come since I started it, of hitting 5k views this year, getting a press invite to a fashion awards event and being able to meet so many wonderful people through blogging and the events I’ve attended this year. I’m planning to make next year even better and bigger for Simplybylola. Some of those things that I’ve got planned for next year are; going to even more events to network, collaborate with other bloggers, start a ‘introducing’ series which will introduce new fashion designers, brands or other bloggers, create a monthly newsletter and my biggest and most exciting project which will be called ‘be kind’.

‘Be kind’ will be a project which I want to work with a charity on, we will create t-shirts saying ‘be kind’ to remind people to be kinder to themselves and others in everyday life as we all live really busy lives these days and in between work, deadlines and house chores it’s easy to snap and forget to do just little acts of kindness. A certain percentage of the sales will go towards supporting the charity, there will also be a giveaway with the t-shirts to be won but it won’t be a regular giveaway. You will have to submit a story of a act of kindness you’ve done recently instead of the usual ‘like and share’.  I’m putting this out there so I can’t back out now and also I’d love for you guys to follow and support my journey through this!

A few of my other personal goals for next year are to do a fashion or writing course, finish my driving licence and get a car, travel more, take more pictures, read more and create opportunities instead of waiting for them. The only way that these goals will become reality is with good time and money management which I’m planning to work on.

I’m extremely excited but at the same time scared at what’s to come, I could give in to my fear and not go after what I want but I don’t see that as an option and neither should any of you reading this because I don’t know who needs to hear this but I believe in you and 2019 will be your year if you put your mind to it.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my readers this year, and everyone who supports me in general whether it’s on social media or in real life I would just like to say that your support means the world to me and my blog wouldn’t be what it is without you and I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Here are my top 3 blog posts from this year!
