I find that buying beauty products is harder than buying clothes, as when a beauty product isn’t right for you you can’t just pack it up and return it. That’s why whenever I’m about to purchase beauty products, I do my research; I read reviews of the products on the website that I’m purchasing from, and I also look for opinions from other bloggers. I’m definitely much more likely to buy a product that is being recommended by a blogger that I follow, and trust their opinion. I hope that today you will trust my opinion regarding these products from my Beauty Bay haul!
The Ordinary – HIGH-SPREADABILITY FLUID PRIMER
Before I have started using this primer, I thought that I couldn’t use a primer because I have oily skin. Every primer I used would make my skin even more oily and therefore my foundation even more visible but this primer changed everything! This is probably my third or fourth time purchasing this product, and I would hand on heart recommend it to anyone with oily skin.
The Ordinary – Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
Another amazing product by The Ordinary, they have slowly taken over my skincare routine. I received this product last year for Christmas, as a part of a giftset and now I have purchased another one. Again with having oily skin I always struggled with finding a moisturiser that wouldn’t make my skin even more oily. I have tried some very expensive moisturisers that didn’t work as well as this product. The only downside I would say is that it can be sometimes hard to get hold off it, especially in the 100ml version it’s like gold-dust.
Holika Holika – PURE ESSENCE MASK SHEET STRAWBERRY
I grabbed this product at the last minute to reach a certain spent limit in my basket. I wasn’t really expecting much of this sheet mask, but I was pleasantly surprised. For the price of £1.95, it left my skin feeling hydrated and glowing. Looking at the other reviews of this product on the website, I wasn’t the only one that liked this product! I definitely will be trying the other face masks by them as well, in my next Beauty Bay haul.
COSRX – LOW-PH GOOD MORNING GEL CLEANSER
The description of this product says ‘A refreshing morning cleanser.’ Which is exactly what I was looking for, I wanted something more gentle for my skin to use in the morning. I have only been using it for about a week but so far, my skin is reacting well to it as I haven’t had any breakouts after using it. I love how it has a gel like texture, and smells like peppermint which makes it lovely to use in the morning.
OH K – CHERRY LIP MASK
I love to do all sort of masks, which is why I decided to purchase this product to try. Unfortunately this was my least favourite product from this Beauty Bay haul. It just really didn’t make a difference, in fact my lips felt even more dry after using this than before! I’m giving it a two start rating, because it did smell nice and because of the low price I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my money.
The Ordinary – Lactic acid 5% + HA
I have been using The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid 2% + 5B overnight so far and it has made a massive difference to my skin texture, I will do a blog post about my skin and how it looked like two years ago and how it looks like now very soon! On the website it says that this lactic acid helps with acne scars, which is why I decided to give it a go. I can’t say if it works yet as I have only used it once, but I have never come across a product by The Ordinary that I wasn’t happy with. Do keep in mind that just because something works for one person, it doesn’t mean that it will work for you. Finding the right products for my skin, took me years and a lot of trial and error
NIKKIETUTORIALS X BEAUTY BAY PRESSED PIGMENT PALETTE
I have thought about purchasing this palette for a while now, and I’m so glad that I did! This picture below does not give justice to how beautiful the colours look like in real life, for example the shade ‘Pride’ (bottom left corner) is such a dark sparkly pink. ‘All in’ also looks so much better and more vibrant in real life. I feel like this palette deserves a blog post, of it’s own after I have tried the palette in a make up look. I feel like it wouldn’t be fair for me to rate it, since I haven’t used it except for swatching the colours. Review pending!
